No fear

This little 6x6 l/out I've done for the album I'm going to do entitled "Life's little Moments". Just pics taken on random subjects, and whatever takes my fancy at the time. This one I took at a cafe in the Octagon, a little bird sitting on the chair rail beside me waiting for a crumb and I was as calm as could be. I waited for the panic attack and it never came, I just enjoyed the little fat fellow sitting beside me and shared my muffin, me who would go hysterical if a bird came near me, maybe I'm finally growing up! Lol. Anyway I guess the big test will be the next time I have to face one in the house, cos last time I made a complete fool of myself.
Love the colors in this one but can't remember what paper it is, I'll search my scrap draw.
BTW the Cricut Expression does cut Grungeboard just have to have it on Max pressure and the blade up to 6. It slipped a bit on the mat but I think the mat is getting a bit tired.

Scrapboxnz Challenge

Just finished this layout for the Scrapboxnz monthly challenge. Once again they feature June's wonderful photos, and tell the story of how cool it is to be able to sit outside in the city and have a coffee. It still gives me a buzz to do this, I remember going to Melbourne in '92 and'97 and coming home and wishing we had a cafe scene here in Dunedin, and boy we do now. One of the cooler cafe's has even got gorgeous jewel coloured shawls draped over the outdoor chairs to warm punters who want to brave the cold and sit outside. (Note to self: must do this this week.) However this layout tells the story of our city centre "the Octagon", gorgeous historic buildings, trees and cafe's, very cool. Enough of the travelogue, although I do recommend New Zealand visitors include Dunedin in their plans cos it's gorgeous, (no bias just fact).
For this layout I used Creative Imaginations Coffee Phrases paper, Cricut letters, (Plantin Schoolbook), Kelly Panacci flower stamps which I cut out and KP stitching stamps, Coluzzle file folder.
Tried to emulate the swirls on the coffee by stamping the letters with swirl stamps and Cocoa inkpad.

Friday....already!

Wow the time sure does fly, it's Friday already. I'm loving the variety in this new job, not the same start time the same days every week, I feel like I'm on holiday most of the time, but I'm actually working more hours, it's really funny and gooood!
I'm working at the shop today,(Scrapbook Paradise) looking forward to that cos it's really busy at the moment, lots of new lines coming in, heaps of clear stamps (had to succumb to the new Kelly Pannacci ones yesterday), I only went over to arrange for the key but I couldn't leave without them. I learnt my lesson last week, there was a set with birds and owls, I went back the next day and they were gone, hope there are more coming cos they were very cool. It's a real joke me wanting bird stamps because all my life I've had a real bird phobia, but lately I've gone nuts on birds, even let the parakeet at the local pet shop sit on my shoulder while I wandered around, poor Faye couldn't believe her eyes, I think she was waiting for me to freak out but I was very calm and happy to have him there.
What a sad week it's been, what with that dreadful earthquake in China and that dreadful tragedy in Myanmar, it makes one extremely grateful for the peace in your own life. No matter how chaotic my life has been over the years I thank God that I've never had to endure something like these tragedies, it certainly puts thing in perspective.
To lighter things, Scrap Sunday this week, I'm working till 10.30 but I'll be packed and ready to go and even better it's just down the road.
Well better go get ready and go play shop!
