Wahoo...

yesterday was Scrap Sunday, and as usual it didn't disappoint. The whole day to sit and scrap, share ideas, discuss life and all it's "good, bad and ugly" and catch up with good friends.Yes just the way to recharge the batteries.
Had a good time finished two layouts and came home and nearly finished another one.....yes I love Scrap Sundays.
So today, another day off, I'm going to finish another layout I started last night.{YES YOU READ RIGHT}, and some general house stuff, then tonight I've been invited to an evening at Weight Watchers for those who have reached their goal weight, kind of a launch for Slimmer of the Year I think..... after those cakes I ate yesterday that wouldn't be me, but I'll go along anyway to hear what it's about.....(note to self: wear skinny jeans)   LOL.
Anyway on to the day.

Before I go, one of the layouts I did yesterday, thanks to Naomi for taking the photo of Gaylene and I at Scrapcamp.
Used Prima papers and flowers. Inking, scrunching and layering, loved doing this one because I loooove the photo. So special.

Well today

has been a wet miserable Autumn Monday, but the sun's been shining here....cos it's my day off! It's been a really busy weekend, Saturday was busy at the hotel and yesterday we had a stand at a Wedding Show, it was really really great. We had lots of interest at our stand, took lots of names of potential brides who may be interested in having their reception in our restaurant and at the same time had heaps of fun and saw some amazing wedding decorating ideas, so a good day really. We have another one in 4 weeks and I couldn't sleep last night planning the set up and decorations. I didn't have much time to organise for this one but next time it's going to be a stunner....well that's the plan.
Very exciting this morning, finally checking my emails, the first time since Thursday, and found that our next Scrap Sunday is this week and wahoo...... I'm off so Carol, Naomi and the crew make room for me cos I'll be there!
Apart from that Gussie's feeling a lot better, despite the fact that I stopped those tablets, I didn't like the fact that he seemed so "out-of-it", and he kept running away from us which is not like him at all. So touch wood he will keep improving without them.
The other exciting news is that my Magnolia stamps have shipped from the states so watching the post intently, and today made a card with one of my new stamps in mind, so it will be ready when she arrives.... yeah I know thoughts of kid+Christmas come to mind LOL, but you need something in life to be passionate about, it keeps ya sane.
But right now Gus wants his dinner so better run.

Yesterday's Layouts

So spent yesterday scrapping with some friends, had a ball, heaps of laughs, lots of cheek, it's so cool when you've know people for so long that you can say the first thing that comes into your head without having to spoil the moment with hesitation. Really had fun scrapping too, just sat there and let it happen, then loved the results which can be quite unusual for me. And the other news of the day U2 is coming to New Zealand in November, now this is so weird. I've said if they came back I'd go but now that they are everything is against me going but I'm very excited for everyone who is. I just love U2 apart from the Rolling Stones they are my No1 band. MMMM!
Anyway back to the scrapping, did some more pages for my Cosmo Cricket album and a page using some Prima paper I bought at scrap camp. Well this paper just begged to be cut out so I did! Had fun with this and love the results just need to come up with a title. Used stamps, paper doiley, Glimmer Mist and pearls, really had fun...did I mention That???.

I want to play....

but sadly there isn't going to be time again today. Work has been so full on lately that when I am home I'm doing the stuff that has to be done, not the stuff I want to do. Have the day off tomorrow and I am going to make a wedding card for friday...(yeah I know -no pressure). I seem to have ideas spinning around in my head and I just can't find the time to try them.
Sunday was our get together Scrap Day, but after working from 6am I came home and crashed on the couch till about 6....whoops, think they'd have gone home by then. It's crazy cos I wasn't going to let this job take over my life, but circumstances have changed that and I find I'm busier than I was before. Never mind, I guess be grateful for the work while it's there, winter might be a different scenario.
Have got a wedding to go to on Friday, very excited. The bride worked at Bell Pepper with me and she is such an awesome person as is her partner. I am sure this is going to be a gorgeous wedding and they will be very very happy.
Well must go the supermarket is calling....

Scrap Day

Well another Monday, and thank heavens I have the day off, work was crazy again on Saturday night with a wedding in the restaurant, a large one (100 pax), and a tour of 50 dining in the conference room upstairs. Got home about 1.30am and was up at 8 30 to organise and go to our Scrap Day. Had so much fun yesterday and managed to get some of my 365 Album done....wahoo I'm on the way.
The conversation kept coming back to our Scrap Camp we are having in April, not long now and the excitement is building that's for sure.
Was pleased with what I got done yesterday (pics later), managed to do 3 pages of my 365 album and two of my Akoroa one, although I'd left the Stazon at home so I couldn't go any further with that one.
I love these days, seeing what everyone else is doing and sharing ideas, stories etc etc. Missed Dallas hope you're ok.
Well off for a drive to see where our Scrap Camp is going to be, so excited now!

Winter is here

Winter is definitely here now, it's really cold and threatening snow. But the big scary for me this week is the fact that petrol has finally risen to $2.00 litre, thanks heavens I have my economical wee car, if I still had the station wagon I'd have to carry it everywhere.LOL.
Certainly makes you think about driving around for no reason eh?
Been another busy week, work at the hotel, work at the shop and yes some time to play, it's great that I feel there is so much variety in my life now. Scrap Sunday last week was very cool and I got a couple of layouts done, not quite finished but the inspiration was certainly flowing.
I have another one on my desk at the moment waiting for a title, did it for Scrapboxnz's monthly challenge, really happy with it but have the silly problem of not wanting to cover the paper with a title.... maybe ghost letters!
Anyway going to work at 6 tonight so must go and get something done.
Keep warm.

Friday....already!

Wow the time sure does fly, it's Friday already. I'm loving the variety in this new job, not the same start time the same days every week, I feel like I'm on holiday most of the time, but I'm actually working more hours, it's really funny and gooood!
I'm working at the shop today,(Scrapbook Paradise) looking forward to that cos it's really busy at the moment, lots of new lines coming in, heaps of clear stamps (had to succumb to the new Kelly Pannacci ones yesterday), I only went over to arrange for the key but I couldn't leave without them. I learnt my lesson last week, there was a set with birds and owls, I went back the next day and they were gone, hope there are more coming cos they were very cool. It's a real joke me wanting bird stamps because all my life I've had a real bird phobia, but lately I've gone nuts on birds, even let the parakeet at the local pet shop sit on my shoulder while I wandered around, poor Faye couldn't believe her eyes, I think she was waiting for me to freak out but I was very calm and happy to have him there.
What a sad week it's been, what with that dreadful earthquake in China and that dreadful tragedy in Myanmar, it makes one extremely grateful for the peace in your own life. No matter how chaotic my life has been over the years I thank God that I've never had to endure something like these tragedies, it certainly puts thing in perspective.
To lighter things, Scrap Sunday this week, I'm working till 10.30 but I'll be packed and ready to go and even better it's just down the road.
Well better go get ready and go play shop!

Scrap Sunday

Another really cool Scrap Sunday come and gone, felt like I really achieved some stuff today, had fun. Love catching up on what everyone's doing, some really fabulous layouts happening I might add. It's really nice going with a fresh mind ready to create, not staggering in half asleep after a really late night at work.
Anyway time to got to bed but just wanted to share the finished layout I did at scrap day today. I knew it just needed that "little something else" and I think the journalling card did it.
Thanks for looking.
Nite.

P.S That pic didn't upload that great, it's not on a white border but I'm a bit tired to fix it.

Monday Monday!

Well and what a Monday it is, spring is definitely here, gorgeous day. But not for those who believed, with good reason, that the All Blacks, our national rugby team, was going to bring home the World Cup. Now I'm not going to pretend to understand our national game of Rugby, but I've had quite an insight to the intensity that surrounds the game and it's players, due to working for some years in a hotel where they always stayed, and indeed the effect a win or loss has on the players and followers of this game. Suffice to say there are some pretty gutted people around today.
On a brighter note yesterday was Scrap Sunday, and myself and five other keen scrappers got together to spend the day scrappin', and chatting, having a laugh and generally sharing ideas and whats hot and whats not. Love these days, always come home fired up with inspiration and cool ideas. Thanks for having me girls, I really appreciate it.
Well I'm getting that "IT's time for my tea" face, so better go and feed my boy.
Ciao
