Yesterday's Layouts

So spent yesterday scrapping with some friends, had a ball, heaps of laughs, lots of cheek, it's so cool when you've know people for so long that you can say the first thing that comes into your head without having to spoil the moment with hesitation. Really had fun scrapping too, just sat there and let it happen, then loved the results which can be quite unusual for me. And the other news of the day U2 is coming to New Zealand in November, now this is so weird. I've said if they came back I'd go but now that they are everything is against me going but I'm very excited for everyone who is. I just love U2 apart from the Rolling Stones they are my No1 band. MMMM!
Anyway back to the scrapping, did some more pages for my Cosmo Cricket album and a page using some Prima paper I bought at scrap camp. Well this paper just begged to be cut out so I did! Had fun with this and love the results just need to come up with a title. Used stamps, paper doiley, Glimmer Mist and pearls, really had fun...did I mention That???.

1972

I have just finished this page, I can't believe I actually scrapped. Yesterday afternoon I just lost myself at my table and had a ball doing this. Sadly had to force myself to finish it this morning. What's that about? I want to do it but most of the time I can't settle to stay there keep drifting off to do other things even as silly as playing games on the computer.... I wish the universe would listen " i JUST WANT TO LOSE MYSELF AND CREATE!" Anyway this photos was taken in 1972, I'd not long been flatting and life was a whole new range of experiences and excitements.
Really had fun with this, used Glimmer mist spray and mask, October Afternoon papers and embellishments, Prima stamps and some hand-made flowers. Even used the Cricut to cut leaves.
And now the other thing on my list today is to WALK to the supermarket.
Ltr.

PS. I think I was inspired by some of the gorgeous work I was looking at yesterday so maybe I learnt something LOL

Playing with Bo Bunny...

Mama-Razzi line which Naomi Found at Scrap Camp and instantly brought it to me, wow she knows my taste well cos of course I had to have it. It's very cool and I'm also sure Gus thinks I'm the "Mama-razzi", he could swap stories about hiding from the press with the rich and famous that's for sure.
Anyhow yesterday I did something I never do, I scrapped a photo of me. It was taken last February and when I saw it I knew I had to do something about my weight but it wasn't until October when Faye suggested that we do Weight-Watchers together that I actually took action. Boy I'm glad I did, I feel so like my old self, back to wearing clothes that are way too young for me (but I don't care) LOL! I believe you are as old as you feel and most of the time that's about 20...well ok 25!. Anyway it's good to be me again and I do love my new Scrap Room I go in there and the creativity flows.
Long may it last!

50's Fabulous

Wahoo! I've finished a layout***! It's so long since I've scrapped I was getting worried, but I think the break's been a good thing. I started this at our Scrap Sunday last week and right from the start it just worked for me. I guess the colours in the photo inspired me and I had all the right things but I'm thrilled with it. AND the good thing is I'm super keen to do more, thank heavens since two weeks today will be the last day of our Scrap Camp :(. But hey and awful lot of fun, inspiration and friends before then.
Off to start something els...dum de do dum de do!!! Happy Happy!
PS> Papers all Prima, Lace Prima, Stamps Prima, Title Cricut and Grunge Paper, Distress Inks, Nestabilities Shape, Kaiser Pearls.
PPS. Grunge paper is the most wonderful thing to cut on the Cricut, perfect everytime even on tiny bits. Thanks Tim.

Calico Corner

I have to be honest I'm very excited about this layout. For the first time I scrapped something very close to my heart, (well other than Sam, my niece and Gus), but something that I guess I've shut out of my mind because the emotions are pretty raw. My best friend and I had this awesome little craft business that took us to all the craft markets around, gave us so many challenges and yet so much happiness and we miss it terribly. But unfortunately life got in the way and we had to let it go. Yesterday I was brave enough to scrap a couple of photos and journal my thoughts.....I FELT LIKE A REAL SCRAPBOOKER. When I showed it to Faye the tears rolled down her face and then mine started but I feel I've opened a gate. I now feel that I can start "keepin' it real" with my scrap projects, it's ok if it hurts it's good for the soul right?
Anyway I cut the white frame on the Cricut Exptession and punched the holes around the scallops, DCWV cardstock and some random gingham paper that was lurking in the draw, cut the chipboard hearts and the flowers with Accent Essentials on the Cricut.
So now that the gates are open I've got a couple of other projects in mind to celebrate that amazing little business that was Calico Corner.
Really quiet at work so have taken a couple of extra nights off so wahoo scrap table here I come. LOL

Whoa! It's December...

Can't believe that it's the 3rd of December. Where oh where has the year gone? So crazy. My Mum always used to say that time flew when you got older.....another thing you've been right about Mum.
Well our Cricut Expression arrived on Friday, and I was actually working at my friends Scrapbook shop when the courier arrived, she should have been wearing a Santa hat cos I couldn't have been more excited.
Had only a short time to play cos of work etc but yesterday I had a ball. Can't believe what it can do and I know I've only scratched the surface. Cut some fairly strong chipboard tags yesterday without a moments hassle, just so excited.
Was at a scrap day on Saturday and it was so much fun, it really is true that scrappers are a great bunch cos the fun is in the helping and sharing and joy of seeing everyone create their ideas, and seeing their pleasure in finishing a project.
Work is getting busier but not as busy as past years, I really do think people have let Christmas sneak up on them this year...bit scared about the next few weeks could get crazy LOL.
I haven't even thought of presents yet but then I love the hustle and bustle of the last minute rush.
Anyway "Buggy" is sitting in the corner looking lonely so I must go and play.

Sammie's Book

Yesterday was definitely a good day, I made up my mind to really concentrate on scrapping and ....I did. Whoa that's an achievement!Anyway I did two more layouts for the book I'm doing of Sam's early years. I found some photos I'd forgotten all about so it inspired me to do a dedicated book of her baby years, alas they seem a long time ago now sigh! All of twelves years but still that's along time in the life of a child and an Auntie who doesn't get to see her that often. However to the pages, .... the first one is a photo that a friend of mine took one morning as part of a "photo shoot". They are all fantastic and the quality is gorgeous, This is probably my favourite because this has been a "signature" look of Sam's all her life and I just love it.

The second photo was taken when she was three and the whole thing was a complete fluke, even though it looks totally planned. My sister and family were staying with us, and we went down to the city for lunch, in one of the malls they had this Merry-go-round set up complete with a pink car. Sam has always loved cars, especially old ones, so the scene was set, and like all good Auntie's I had my camera handy. At that stage scrap-booking was just a dream because nothing in the way of products were available here and I used to improvise and dream about getting my hands on "the real stuff" LOL!
For the "Pink" page I used a sketch from Page Maps by Begga Huna. I have just started using sketches, I'm trying to make myself do something different and not stick to the same formula every time. Really chuffed with how it turned out.
Used K&Co papers, Bazzil, Autumn leaves stamps,Cuttlebug, and Fancy Pants Big Board Shapes and Stamps and Maya Road stamps.

Scrappy Projects

I've finally gotten around to taking some pics of my latest projects. The first one is a little box that I came up with to hold memo pads, I thought they would make a cool pressie to sit on a desk etc etc. I just measured the side of a pile of memo papers and then added 4". ( I'll add the proper measurements later.) I decorated with stamps and Cuttlebug shapes. The papers are Deja Views.
