Very excited....

cos yesterday I bought a pair of jeans, so what? I hear you say???? Well last year I was wearing size 16 jeans and the ones I bought yesterday, (all gorgeous and faded sandwash blue that they are..) were a size 12!!!!! Very cool, I was always around a 10/12 and then after crashing to 55kgs when I was diagnosed with leukemia , I've had a bit of funny run with my weight. From not wanting to eat at all while I was sick to falling head over heels in love with food again on reaching remission, my weight kinda climbed on up there. So when Faye decided to go to Weightwatchers I wanted to go to support her mainly but also to try and lose a bit myself. I feel so much better, have more energy and am just lovin' fitting my clothes better......well some now I don't fit but hey that's nothing a sewing machine can't fix...

Lucky Me

This page I've had on my mind since Scrap Camp. It tells the story of the surprise I got on the first morning, came to get breakfast, sat down by the fire and opened the tin in which I had my Gleevac tablets, (for Leukemia and must be taken every day) anyway I opened the tin and out popped my little Lucky Bear. This little bear has been on all my trips including to Australia (twice), but this time it blew me away. I knew that faye had put him in the tin for two reasons, (1) So that I'd have him with me for luck and (2), She knew that when I found him I'd txt her and she'd know that I'd taken my pills. Amazing friend, she was so worried that I'd get caught up in the excitement and forget to take the pills and she didn't want to txt and nag so she knew she'd know for sure that I'd taken them when I found Lucky.
Had a lot of fun doing this layout, the papers are prima, and Basic Grey Porcelain, the lace stamp is BG Porcelain, the bling Prima and the clock stamp Kaiser. Also discovered that I can cut scallops on the Cricut, why did it take me so long????
Anyway today the Mojo has disappeared, have the day off and I can't quite find the groove, kinda tossing up Cards? Page? Ah I know COFFEE! LOL

Last night I found my Mojo!

and I actually scrapped, I think it was cos I'd hung out with the scrapping crew in the afternoon, not done anything but was wishing I'd brought some supplies, so I came home and Whammo! I finished Gus's "He's a Star" book, just a bit of journalling now and it's done. Had fun with Glimmer Mist last night too, I've got a handle on that stuff now and can see why everyone's nuts about it.
Today I got a parcel from the CML Alliance, (yeah I know sounds like something from Star Wars eh?, but no it's the Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Alliance, and in the parcel there was the cutest little clock, (there will be a pic later), the idea is you can set the timer to remind you to take your Gleevac.... how cool is that. Not that I ever have a problem remembering because my live in timer aka "My Best Friend", reminds me every morning, but this wee dude sure is cute. How cool to put a humorous slant on what is for some people a very scary business.
Anyway must run off to work, pics later.

Adrian Sudbury

This is a very sad post because I feel that the world has lost someone wonderful...Adrian Sudbury. I do not know this guy but he's left an amazing impression on me and countless other people around the world. This very young guy, living in England was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, they began treatment only to have it not work, this was when they found he also had Acute Myeloid Leukemia, this is the first known case of someone having both types of leukemia at the same time. But this did not stop Adrian, he fought on to live his life and he made a difference. His fight to raise the awareness of the importance of Bone Marrow Donations went right to 10 Downing Street. I am so in awe of this young guy and I feel gratitude to him because it's because of people like him that this disease will be stopped and a cure will be found.
Go free Adrian, you are a star and you will shine forever. RIP.

Very very excited, had my 3mthly check-up with my specialist yesterday and my last molecular blood test results were in and (Drum roll please), the number of cells affected by Leukemia are .7. This is huge news because the last three tests I've had they have been around 1.4 but the optimum is under 1 and now I'm way under 1, so I'm very very happy.
This has been a long journey but I'm definitely on the winning end now.
So a quick post but a happy one.
Thanks for the fab comment on my "Playboy" Layout, this is definitely my week, and no Dallas I don't even want to think what would happen if it snowed. OMG the chaos would not bear thinking about LOL
